RYA VHF RADIO COURSE

Introduction to the course:
The RYA SRC / VHF Radio course is  for anyone who owns or will be operating a fixed or hand-held marine VHF radio. The Short Range Certificate is the minimum qualification required by law to operate a VHF radio fitted with DSC (Digital Selective Calling).

How much does the course cost? 
£135 + £70 Examination and Licence Fee.

An Examination and Licence Fee of £70 is payable to the RYA (Online application and payment)

Duration 
1 day course starting at 09:00 and finishing around 18:00.

Is prior experience needed?
No experience is needed prior to undertaking this course. However pre-course will be sent for you to read.

What's involved?
The SRC / VHF course will teach you how use and operate a VHF radio using the correct protocols, this will also teach you how to use DSC (Digital Selective Calling). 

Some of the modules covered are: Phonetic Alphabet, Distress Calls, Routine Calls, use of DSC.
